In a move that highlights growing ties in the region, Chinese Premier Li Qiang will be visiting Indonesia from May 24 to 26. Invited personally by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, this visit is expected to deepen friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Right after Indonesia, Premier Li will head to Malaysia to take part in an important ASEAN-GCC-China Summit in Kuala Lumpur from May 26 to 28. This summit, hosted by Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim—currently chairing ASEAN—will bring together leaders from Southeast Asia, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and China to discuss shared goals and strengthen partnerships.
A spokesperson from China’s foreign ministry shared this update on Thursday, emphasizing the importance of these visits in fostering closer regional collaboration.
