Subang Jaya residents can now breathe a sigh of relief — the full Smart Selangor bus service is officially back in action!
After a brief disruption that began on May 2, all five routes serving the Subang Jaya area — SJ01 to SJ05 — are once again operating as normal. The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) made the announcement on June 20 via their official social media channels, sharing the full frequency details for each route.
Here’s what you need to know:
-
SJ01 (BRT/LRT USJ7 – KTMB Subang Jaya),
-
SJ02 (LRT Pusat Bandar Puchong – LRT SS18), and
-
SJ03 (BRT/LRT Kinrara BK5 – SMK Bandar Puchong Jaya)
each have three buses running. -
SJ04 (KTM Serdang – Hospital Serdang) and
-
SJ05 (Putra Permai – Taman Bukit Serdang)
have four buses, with a fifth bus expected to join SJ04 soon, according to an MBSJ spokesperson.
The temporary halt in services had frustrated many daily commuters who rely on these buses for affordable and convenient transport. The disruption stemmed from a delay in securing route permits from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD), which impacted the bus operator, SKS Coachbuilders Sdn Bhd.
APAD later clarified that the permit was submitted late by the operator, and the delay was not due to their processing time.
Fortunately, routes SJ01, SJ02, and SJ03 had already resumed operations back on May 26 — and now with SJ04 and SJ05 also back, the full network is ready to serve the community once again.
For many in Subang Jaya, this return means smoother, cost-free commuting and restored daily routines. It’s a small win, but a meaningful one — and a reminder of just how essential public transport is to city life.
