SRINAGAR, Nov 7: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has officially directed the J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to conduct board exams for classes 10th to 12th starting from February 15, 2025, with an aim to conclude by the end of March.
This move, outlined in an official order from Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar Gupta, signifies a return to the traditional November-December academic session for higher classes, starting with the 2025-26 academic year.
The Council of Ministers had previously approved this transition in a resolution passed on October 30, 2024. The restored academic calendar will apply across Kashmir and Jammu’s winter zone. Additionally, for the 2024-25 academic year, classes 1st to 9th will also resume the November-December session, with exams scheduled for late 2024.
In a significant adjustment for the current academic year, JKBOSE will begin exams for classes 10th to 12th on February 15, 2025. Schools will also administer summative assessments for class 8th under this updated academic structure.
