Srinagar, May 14:
The atmosphere at the Hajj House Srinagar was filled with a mix of emotion and devotion as 642 pilgrims prepared to embark on the sacred journey of a lifetime. The second batch of Hajj pilgrims is set to depart for Mecca on Wednesday, marking a deeply spiritual moment for families and the community alike.
In a hopeful turn, this year’s pilgrimage follows a period of calm after tensions between India and Pakistan eased, allowing the faithful to travel with fewer concerns and more peace in their hearts.
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee, six special flights have been arranged to carry the pilgrims from Srinagar to the holy land. Families gathered early, eyes brimming with tears and hearts full of prayer, as they bid farewell to their loved ones heading towards Mecca.
“It’s a dream come true,” said one pilgrim, his voice trembling with emotion. “To stand in the land where the Prophet (PBUH) once walked… it’s beyond words.”
The scene was a powerful reminder of faith, unity, and the enduring spirit of the people of Kashmir, even in times of uncertainty.
